Hello!

I’m using this space as an extension of the gallery, mainly because I’m always chatting in there anyway and this feels like the online version of that. I also spent a long time writing for a living, so having somewhere to put thoughts into words again feels like a nice return to form.

This blog is where I’ll share what’s going on at Pink Seaweed, what’s just arrived, what’s caught my eye and what I’m thinking about creatively as I go. Sometimes that’ll be new art from artists I love, sometimes it’ll be thoughts about creativity, the high street or why certain things matter more than others, and sometimes it’ll just be a quick update because something new has landed and I’m excited about it.

Everything you see at Pink Seaweed starts with a local artist or maker and that will always sit underneath whatever I’m talking about here. The ideas, the creativity, the decisions and the care come from real people, this blog is just another way to make space for that.

If you’re interested in creativity in a real, everyday sense, if you like knowing where things come from or if you enjoy a bit of behind-the-scenes gallery life, you’ll probably feel at home here.

I’ll dip in and out as things happen, share what feels worth sharing and leave the rest.

Basically, if you’ve ever popped into the gallery for “just a quick look” and ended up staying for a chat, this is that, but online.
